KOLO NOTES

Kolo Notes is a dynamic music collective featuring Ukrainian musicians, bringing together classical mastery and contemporary artistry. The band’s name, Kolo, means “circle” in Ukrainian, symbolizing unity, continuity, and the creative connection between musicians and listeners.

The ensemble is led by Vlad Bogdan (also known as Vlad Bohdan), a professional singer, songwriter, and music producer based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Vlad is a highly successful independent artist and session musician, collaborating with producers around the globe. His powerful vocals and nuanced songwriting form the heart of Kolo Notes’ sound.

The band also features the extraordinary talents of Marina Pierova (Maryna Pierova) on piano, a professional pianist and sought-after session musician renowned for her interpretations of modern classical and neoclassical compositions. Complementing the piano is Iriny Markevych (also Irina Markevich) on violin, a versatile composer, sound producer, and graduate of the prestigious Kharkiv National University of Arts. Iriny’s work spans delicate neoclassical arrangements, high-energy rock, cinematic scores, and virtuosic online performances, establishing her as one of Ukraine’s most active and innovative independent instrumentalists.

All songs performed by Kolo Notes are composed by Frank O’Dea (unless otherwise stated), with primary recordings done in Ukraine and additional recordings and mixing completed in Dublin. The result is a seamless blend of Ukrainian musical heritage, world-class musicianship, and modern production techniques, creating a sound that is at once powerful, emotive, and universally resonant.
